Safebrowsing.be

Criminals are using the Internet more and more. That is why DNS Belgium has launched safebrowsing.be, a free service for holders of a .be, .brussels or .vlaanderen domain name. We check different abuse lists daily. We look for domain names with one of our extensions which appear on those lists. When we find a domain name which appears in one of the lists, we send the registrant a warning that his website is being abused or has been hacked. This e-mail contains a link where the owner can see which domain name is at issue.

What to do if you receive an e-mail from safebrowsing.be

The e-mail from safebrowsing.be will contain a link to the safebrowsing.be website, where you can check which domain name has been infected.
If your website has been hacked, it is best to proceed as follows:

  1. Contact the administrator of your website, who is best placed to help you track and remove the identified files. It is important to remove all infected files.
  2. Change all the passwords of your hosting account, so that criminals cannot enter using the old data.
  3. Make sure that the last updates of the CMS you use have been installed.
