For registrars

Become a registrar in 6 steps

1. Sign up

Send an e-mail including your organisation’s details to support@dnsbelgium.be to enable us to generate a personalised agreement.

  • Details

    • Organisation’s official name

    • First name of the person representing your organisation

    • Last name of the person representing your organisation

    • Street and number

    • Postal code 

    • City

    • State/Province (not obligatory) 

    • Country

    • Phone number (e.g. +32.16284970) to contact you if needed

    • Mobile number (e.g. +32 497 11 11 11) necessary to validate your account

    • E-mail address

    • Website

    • VAT number

    • Contract language for .be: EN/FR/DU; for .vlaanderen and .brussels standard EN

    • Prepayment amount: min. € 2.500 VAT excl. for .be; € 5.000 VAT excl. for both .vlaanderen and .brussels 

      • Exemption of prepayment for .brussels and .vlaanderen if you are a .be registrar

    • Current .be account if applicable, not obligatory

    • Standing order for .be: yes/no, .brussels yes/no, .vlaanderen yes/no

    • Products you wish to offer: .be / .brussels / .vlaanderen

      • In case you also wish to offer .vlaanderen and .brussels: attach your Registrar Accredition Agreement (minimum RRA2013) and mention your IANA ID

    • For .vlaanderen and/or .brussels resellers:

      • add a copy of the contract you’ve signed with an ICANN -accredited registrar + its IANA ID

2. Sign your contract

We will send you a contract via e-mail (with Adobe Sign) which you can sign electronically. We recommend you to save a copy for yourself as well. 

3. Pay your invoice

  • Prepayment .be

    Upon receiving the signed contract, we will send you:

    • a prepayment invoice 
    • a 12-digit security code (by mail or fax) 

    After payment of the prepayment you've chosen (at least € 2,500 VAT excl.) you can get started. 

  • Prepayment .brussels and .vlaanderen

    Upon receiving the signed contract, we will send you:

    • a prepayment invoice  (only applicable if you’re not a .be registrar)

    After payment of the prepayment you've chosen (at least € 5,000 VAT excl. per extension) you can get started. 

4. Activate your account

  • .be account

    Once the payment is received, we will send you an e-mail with the activation codes and a link to the activation page. Activate your account. Keep your letter with your registrar ID and security codes at hand. Note: no need to fill in the ‘Phone key’ field the first time. 

  • .brussels/.vlaanderen account

    Once the payment is received, we will send you separately an e-mail and a text message to activate your account. Activate your account. To be able to carry our technical transactions (set up EPP) you need to create an extra user which you grant technical rights.

5. Create your registrar profile

  • .be registrar profile

    Connect to the registrar site to create your registrar profile. The following fields need to be filled in to be able to register domain names:

    • a billing contact for invoicing
    • at least one technical contact for all technical communication

    If you want to be visible in our list of Registrars , please fill in the product URL for .be on the tab 'Profile' under 'Registrar'. Choose a link with which a visitor directly arrives on the right page to register a .be domain name.

  • .brussels/.vlaanderen registrar profile

    • Connect to the gTLD (.brussels/.vlaanderen) registrar site and create the users needed via the administrator’s account:
      • Technical users
      • Billing users
      • Support users
    • Read more info on these roles on our documentation site
    • Keep in mind that the administrator can only create users and that you need to create a technical user to set up EPP.
    • If you want to be visible in our list of Registrars, please fill in the product URL for .brussels and .vlaanderen on the tab 'Profile' under 'Registrar'. Choose a link with which a visitor directly arrives on the right page to register a domain name.
